What is the difference between AMC MCQ authorisation and booking an exam date?
AMC MCQ authorisation and an examination appointment are separate steps. The AMC describes a twelve-month authorisation period during which you can select an eligible examination event. Once Pearson VUE emails confirmation of your authorisation, you can schedule through its online candidate system or contact centres. The monthly dates on this page help you compare possible events; they do not reserve a seat.
Check the official AMC scheduling instructions and your authorisation expiry before choosing a revision target. You can schedule only one event covered by that authorisation, and some venues have limited capacity. Build your study timetable around your confirmed appointment, not just a preferred month, and retain the placement letter issued through your AMC account after scheduling.
How should I use the scheduling, examination and results dates together?
Record the three dates separately: the scheduling deadline is the administrative cutoff; your confirmed examination appointment is the target for timed practice and final revision; and the results-release date tells you when to expect your outcome.

How do I check AMC MCQ availability at my preferred venue?
Once authorised, check available appointments through the scheduling routes linked from the official AMC events page. Pearson VUE provides AMC CAT MCQ venues and manages appointment scheduling. The event calendar is not a live seat-availability list.
Some venues have limited capacity and allocate places on a first-come, first-served basis, so check early rather than waiting for the closing date. Choose an available date and venue that suit your revision, work roster and travel needs, then check your booking details and AMC placement letter.
Can I reschedule an AMC MCQ event if my preparation or circumstances change?
The AMC allows withdrawal from and rescheduling of an MCQ event or venue before the event closing date, provided a seat is available at your preferred venue. That makes the scheduling cutoff an important decision point in your revision plan. Review your readiness before it arrives rather than assuming you can change an appointment immediately before exam day.
The official AMC rescheduling guidance states that withdrawal or rescheduling applications are not accepted after the closing date and warns of forfeiting authorisation and payment. Cancellation of the authorisation itself is a different process, limited to exceptional circumstances with supporting evidence. Read those instructions or contact the AMC about your situation; do not assume a booking change extends the authorisation period.
