Our Philosophy

At PassGP, we believe educational work should feel different from traditional medical institutions:

Who Our Examiners Are

PassGP works with a small group of highly experienced specialist clinicians to develop examiner-level educational content for Australian and New Zealand postgraduate medical examinations.

Our contributors are senior doctors who are passionate about teaching, thinking deeply about assessment, and shaping how future candidates learn, without the bureaucracy or rigid structures of traditional institutions and colleges.

All work with PassGP is flexible, outcome-based and clinician-friendly.

Contributors work on clearly aspirations and accomplish them at their own pace.

Pathway for New Contributors

Step 1 – Initial Discussion

  • CV / résumé review
  • Conversation with the Chief Examiner
  • Agreement on scope of work and onboarding documentation

Step 2 – Orientation

  • Shadow selected sessions
  • Review and critique existing content
  • Introduction to calibration and marking philosophy

Step 3 – Paid Work

  • Defined teaching commitments and/or assigned doctors
  • Clearly scoped writing or QA tasks
  • Close feedback and discussion
  • Encouragement to refine and experiment

Step 4 – Ongoing Collaboration

  • Higher-level review or calibration roles
  • New product development
  • Senior QA responsibilities
  • Academic medical education projects

How Our Community Works

PassGP is deliberately small, direct and deeply personal:

  • Contributors work closely with assigned doctors and examination leads in 1:1 collaboration.
  • Feedback is rapid and bilateral with open discussion about clinical reasoning and exam strategy.
  • Expertise is respected - contributors are trusted as senior clinicians, not managed as volume producers.
  • There are no opaque committees or bureaucratic management layers separating contributors from meaningful work.
