This is a common question with no simple answer. The breadth of most curriculums is broad, with topics extending beyond clinical medicine into medicolegal medicine, clinical governance, population health, professionalism, and statistics. In addition, it does take some time to get acquainted to examination technique. 

The PassGP team have heard from many candidates who by every measure are superb doctors but who have repeatedly failed their examinations, and we strongly encourage the importance of understanding the rules of the game. For these reasons, we would strongly advise a period of minimum six months of preparatory work on both knowledge acquisition and orientation to examination technique.
